Restore Function and Confidence in Your Smile

Dental Implants Florence

In addition to compromising your confidence in your smile, missing teeth can contribute to several health issues, including problems with your bite, reduced jaw bone density, periodontal disease, and more.

To restore function, health, and beauty to compromised smiles, Advanced Dental Center offers dental implants to our Florence and Darlington patients. These surgically implanted prosthetics provide the ultimate anchor for crowns and dentures. Contact us today to learn more during a consultation with one of our highly trained dentists.

What Are Dental Implants?

Video: Implant Dentistry

Traditional dental implants are larger implants that have to be surgically placed, whereas mini implants are smaller and do not have to be surgically placed. Traditional implants require a lot more recovery time. Mini implants are easy to put in and can be functional immediately. Patients have to have adequate bone density to support mini implants, and if they do, the implants work wonderfully. Patients can come in in the morning, get their mini implants and go home and eat the same day.

The foundation of a dental implant is a 100% biocompatible titanium post. This post provides a secure base for a restoration, like a dental crown or implant-supported denture. Traditional dental implants can be used to restore any number of missing teeth.

If you decide a dental implant is right for you, one of our highly experienced oral surgeons will surgically implant a small titanium post in your jaw. The surrounding jaw bone will fuse to the post, in a process known as osseointegration. Once healing is complete, you will return to our clinic where your dentist will place an abutment piece on top of the post. Your restoration will be attached to the abutment piece, providing functionality equal to that of natural teeth.

Because implants are a permanent part of your smile, they offer many of the benefits of dentures or false teeth without the embarrassing problems caused by ill-fitting traditional dentures that frequently slip out of place. With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime. However, with this procedure, proper hygiene and maintenance is essential.

Related Services

At Advanced Dental Center, we are proud to offer several innovative procedures that make implants available to more patients than ever before. In the past, patients who waited a long time to replace their teeth (thus experiencing atrophy of the jaw bone) were not eligible for this procedure. Our team offers both bone augmentation and sinus lifts, actually restructuring the jaw bone to support dental implants. Bone augmentation typically involves bone grafts, using your own bone, bone from a donor, or a synthetic material. A sinus lift is a type of augmentation that specifically targets the upper jaw. Your sinus tissue will be moved upwards to make room for the implants, and your dentist will add several millimeters of bone to your jaw.

Same-Day Restorations Available

We also offer mini dental implants. Also known as immediate-placement implants, mini implants are similar to traditional dental implants, but the entire process can be completed in just a few hours. Mini implants are an excellent alternative for patients with compromised jawbone density, allowing implants to be placed without a bone augmentation procedure.

Though many of our patients prefer the efficiency and convenience of this procedure, it is not suitable for everyone. During a comprehensive consultation with one of our dentists, your overall oral health and jaw structure will be examined, and you can discuss your viable treatment options.
